LIFE, WHAT IS IT REALLY?

And here I am about to tackle a subject that is bigger and longer than its own name.
Life is a small four letter word when its meaning, its value, its
importance is rather grand and huge I shall also study small four letter words starting with L.

This past night at 2.02 am I lost my sleep and I was awake till 4:00. During all this time I was composing in my head what I was going to write about life.
I wonder if this morning I will remember all those ideas, but I will try.

The fact is that I have the marvelous privilege, to my eyes, that I like to read. I read about everything, yet I always had a liking for a subject that relate to Humanity . I confess not too much science. So philosophy, the history of the world, the great men and women, Religions, Nature remain my favorite subjects. To the extent that many years ago I decided to collect all the wise words, phrases, sentences, thoughts, ideas expressed I encountered and found brilliant . I wrote them all in my IPad under the title ´Wise Words'.

I will be delighted in this writing to expose them for the benefit of the reader without naming the author as the last time I did it I was treated of being pedantic.
And me who refuses to own what is not mine for I see in this a lesson of humility. And if people recognize the author, it will be my little satisfaction.

In my title, I added ´what' to life for I am convinced that many before me wrote about this subject calling their work simply ´Life ´. So my title will be thus different.

I heard someone said that life is simple, people are complex, that you must live your life as if everything is rigged in your favor. That life can be pulled by goals as surely as it can be pushed by drives. We need to remember that the greatest use of life is to spend it on something that will outlast it.

And here comes the big word from Albert Einstein: The man who regards life as meaningless is not merely unfortunate but almost disqualified for life. One must understand that life is not about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself for a man who dares to waste one hour of time has not discovered the value of life.

The trouble with life isn't that there is no answer, it's that here are many answers. The responsibility of creative life is both a curse and a blessing. It's the thing that gives you life and is killing you at the same time. A life spent making mistakes is not more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing. And Martin Luther King added that our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.

Do you remember who said that life is like riding a bike. To keep your balance, you must keep moving ? Einstein again.
And here is an interesting comparison: A man's life (and I include woman) in all its events, great and small, is as necessarily predetermined as are the movements of the clock.

Before finishing it would be good to say that the while of life is nothing but a journey to death. The Zohar tells us that the good die young that they may not degenerate while the wicked live on that they may have a chance to repent, or produce a virtuous progeny.

On a softer note, life and satisfaction appear to follow a U shaped course, with its twin peaks in childhood, when the world is one great theme park and in old age, when we ´ve been on all the rides a thousand times and are perfectly content just to watch.
